'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

15 Blessed Years

God is love, and therein lies our confidence that love will never fail. - Bonnie Jensen

Celebrating 15 Blessed Year together

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.
Now remain in my love.
If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love,
just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command.
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business.
Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.
Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
This is my command: Love each other.
John 15:9-17

Weekend Events. . .

And what a busy, fun filled weekend it was. . . . .
Friday evening Katelynn & Katarina spent the night so we made the most of it. We went and picked up food and movies, then went home and enjoyed the beautiful weather and ate outside. The kids then played football for a while and when it got dark we went in for the movie.
Our first event Saturday morning was Noah & Katarina's soccer game in a neighboring town. I couldn't remember how long it would take us to get there, and we were really early, so I took them to breakfast. They played good, but lost 3-0.On our way home we stopped and bought pumpkins and a kit for carving.
Katelynn had to leave to a volleyball game, and the other three got busy cleaning their out.

Then we got a call from my mom that they needed some help with hauling a few (105) square bales, so we put the pumpkins on hold and went to help.
We finished there, went back home, got ready and went to church, then went back home to work on pumpkins again. By this time Katelynn and David were over.

Anytime a state championship is won in the city, the team is honored with a celebration parade. They are paraded down main street to the school riding on the fire truck, so we went out to cheer and congratulate them.

Our Bonfire

We were finally able to burn the brush pile we had in the back, and the boys couldn't wait. Brian started a small fire on the side to get coals for bar-b-que, so we allowed the boys with the help of Beau to start the big pile. They were under close supervision the whole time, and had a lot of fun.

5th Grade President

Noah won!!!
Yes, our son who said he didn't want to win and was doing it only because it was an assignment, was voted class president. After the first vote they had a five way tie, so the teacher listed the five names on the board. He said as she was writing them he was saying to himself, 'please don't write Noah, please don't write. . . and she started writing N-o-a-h. The other four were all girls, so while the girls split their votes, he had all the boy's (and a few girl's) votes. He was excited to tell all of us, he even had to call Brooke & Beau because they told him that in order to win he had to promise something like "tootsie roll Tuesday" or "whooper Wednesday", so when he called them, he said "hey, this is Noah, the new fifth grade president and I didn't even have to promise anything".
I'm so proud of my boy!!!

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend was the pumpkin patch in our small town. I was a little disappointed, there weren't many pumpkins. I think they tried to expand it and give more activities for the kids, but all I wanted to do was get some cute pictures of our boys in the pumpkins. I only took about five pictures and wasn't real crazy about any, but I guess they're okay considering there wasn't much effort put it to them.

What it usually looks like

Brian's students were asking what the roadway should look like without all the water, so this evening we took some pictures and I thought I would share too. Of course, the roads aren't usually this bad, but after all that water there was damage.
The weekend total was approximately 14 inches (that's just what we poured out of the gauge)
