This weekend was my older sister, Diane's birthday - no big celebration, just some yummy cheesecake before the boys left to the Aggie game.

Operation Christmas Child

The other day I was reading one of my favorite blogs and Linny talked about filling a shoe box for orphans around the world, and how when her husband & daughter were on a mission trip they went to a rural orphanage in Uganda and when the kids saw them arrive some ran and got their boxes that were given to them through Samaritan's Purse.
I thought this was so neat and always want to do things like this, but usually don't know where to drop the things off, or the drop offs are usually 45 + miles away.....I went to the link given for Samaritan's Purse and they had a "find a drop off location" button, so I put in our zip code, and found that there is a drop off right in our small home town. I told the boys about this project, and Noah said 'oh yeah, is it the picture of the box with wings on it? I saw the sign at the church that we drive by everyday'. Yippee Jesus!!!
So I went and bought a bunch of goodies, and we filled the boxes, and mom dropped them off for me this morning. The boys wrote notes to the boys & girl who will receive our boxes and put a picture of us in there and told them we would be praying for them - they were excited when I told them that they may even write back.
So we are praying for two little boys and one little girl and hoping to brighten their lives through Operation Christmas Child.
The deadline for the drop off is Monday Nov 22nd, but if you are interested you can go to http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/Pack_A_Shoe_Box/

Veterans Day

The kids had a Veterans Day Program at school today, so Noah called and invited PoPo, and Kade called and invited Uncle Jerry. All the students did a good job with skits, prayers, and songs honoring our wonderful Veterans.
Thank you to the wonderful men & women what serve our country - we owe so much to them.

Conner's Soccer Game

This is Conner's first year playing soccer, and Debbie & Louis are coaching
his team. Since our season is over we were finally able to make it to one of his games. He played good, it's just fun to watch 4 & 5 year olds chase the ball up and down the field (and everyone from both team chase the ball when I goes out of bounds).
Way to Go Conner!!!!

All Saint Day Program

Kade came home a couple of weeks ago talking about the All Saints Day Program at school and said to guess what he was going to be, an angel, a sheep or a preditor (wolf attacking the sheep), we said not an angel, to which he replied 'yep, I'm angel'.
His class did a skit on St Germain.
He was on and off the stage so quick I bearly had time to snap a picture.
So being the good mama I am, I made him put the wings back on and pose for a picture for me.
Noah's class did St. John Bosco.
Noah was a field worker and a prisioner - I was surprised by the number of times he was on the stage, and he even had lines.
They all did a great job!

Daddy's Birthday

Saturday was Daddy's birthday, so to add to the fun of the family gathering together, we had a costume party....those pictures will be coming soon...

I think he had a good birthday, even though he probably won't admit it...

Soccer finale

The soccer season is over (at least in our small town it is).
We had a good season!!!
Noah's team did great and only had one loss
Kade's team did good too, even though they had a few more losses.
We had the end of season party on Saturday and the players were all presented trophies.

Pumpkin Carving

The pumpkins (or punkins as Kade says) were carved in time for Halloween.....actually they were a little too early and thrown out by Halloween......but we had fun doing them and they looked pretty cool while they lasted.

The Big Game

Friday was the big rival game and alumni night.
It was a fun win.
And it was really good to see so many graduates out there.
They called the alumni by decades, starting with the 2000's, then the 1990, and the greatest group of the 1980's, and went all the way down to the 1940's.
Yes, there was one lady there representing the 1940's. . . so cool!
And we beat our rival team 62 - 6
It was Awesome!!!!!
A couple of weeks ago they had parent's night for Jr. High cross country, here's Donnie, Bernadette & Juliette.
