'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

Giving Back

For the past 7 or 8 years a few of us from the St. Paul class of 1989 have been buying strudels from the parish strudel bake and giving them to the sisters at the mother house to enjoy.
The best part of it is we personally deliver them and visit with some of the sisters that taught us. It has become something that we all look forward to each year.

What we've been doing...

Sorry I haven't posted lately - here's what we've been up to...

...basketball...
...finishing up soccer...
...football...
STATE GAME is this weekend!!!!

Forgivness...

Kade had his First Reconciliation this weekend.
It was so sweet to see all the little ones getting nervous about telling the priest their sins.
They had a short prayer service before each student went to confession. After their individual confessions they joined their family in the pew, prayed their penance, then went to the alter with their parents and lit a candle....forgiven...
Thank you, God for forgiving my sins. Than you for sending Your Son to die for my sins and for rising from the dead so that I can have new life in You. Thank you for giving the Catholic Church this sacrament of Reconciliation so that I can stay close to You. I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Operation Christmas Child

For the second year, the boys and I are participating in Operation Christmas Child...we fill a shoe box (or a plastic box) with goodies for less fortunate children in other countries.
They helped me pick out and pack items such as notepads, pens, pencils, toothbrushes, toothpaste, flash cards, books, crayons, trucks, games, and bibles. Then they each wrote a note and put it in their box, and I made the postage donation online so we will be able to track where our boxes go. And we are praying for the boys that will receive these gifts.

Texas Day in the Second Grade

Kade's class has been studying about our state, so today they had Texas Day in the Second Grade. They were allowed a pass from their spirit shirts and wear cowboy clothes...hats, boots and all. And my little cowboy is one handsome guy.

Noah's 1st Basketball Game

Noah scored 2 points -
I thought they were going to be the game winning points, but the other team had just enough time to score one more time.
We came up a little short on the scoreboard, but for it being their first basketball game ever, they did great!!!!
Basketball nights are going to be long nights especially when we have to travel - Rina and the 7th grade girls play at 5, Noah & the 7th grade boys play at 6, Juliette & the 8th grade girls play at 7, and the 8th grade boys play at 8.
They all played good - the 8th grade boys were the only team to win last night...you can tell they've played before.

My Little Saint

We had a program at school today to honor All Saints
Kade was St. Martin - he had to dress as him, and then say a couple of sentences about him.
He did a great job, and was oh, so cute! All Saints Day
I have so many saints I pray to, and love to see and feel when they intercede on my behalf.
St. Theresa the Little Flower has become one of my favorite.
In the prayer to her you ask her to intercede for you and shower you with roses...It's so amazing how many times after I pray the novena to her I see or find or receive (in an email) a rose...an unexpected rose...and it makes me smile to know she is taking my petitions to the Lord.
St. Theresa, please continue to intercede on my behalf.
