My sister & I were talking this morning about how she tried to be the VIP winner on the local radio station yesterday - caller #25 would win, but she was caller 7 and couldn't get back through. She said if she won that she would give the prize to Brian & Noah, but I told her that she needs to keep it and enjoy it herself.
Fast forward an hour or so and she called me again totally freaking out and saying 'I Won, I Won!!' I thought the girl was going to pee her pants she was so excited.
What did she win??????
A VIP weekend getaway to Texas Motor Speedway with 2 tickets for the O'Reilly 300 Nationwide Series race, 2 tickets for the Samsung 500 Sprint Cup race, 2 VIP pit-passes good for the whole weekend, and 2 nights hotel accommodations.
She's the big NASCAR fan, but she still says she's giving the prize to Brian & Noah.

Increased Rates & Grandparents that are Great
We received our registration and tuition rates for the 2009-2010 school year and of course the rates have increased. The boys heard us talking about it and Kade said "it's okay, I'll go to the free school", but we told him no, that we make sacrifices to send them to a Catholic school.
The following weekend we were telling Brian's parents about it and when we told them what Kade said about going to the "free" (public) school, they both said "no they're not", which translated in to if it's too much, we'll help. Then another day I was joking around with my dad and asked him if he wanted to pay tuition, and without hesitation he said , "if ya'll can't pay for it, we will". It kind of caught me by surprise, not by him saying they would pay because I know they would, but because he didn't joke about it, he just seriously said that they would pay.
Please don't misinterpret, we currently don't need the help, but it's always great to know that they are always there and ready to step up and help.
Oh, and by the way, since it is a Catholic school there are always fundraiser, and our latest one is the magazine drive, so if you or anyone you know would like a magazine, email me or leave me a comment :)

Yummies
We've been having fun trying out mom's Christmas gift. She always talked about the big Kitchen@id mixer, and how some friends make noodles, kolaches, cookies and a lot of other goodies, so we got it for her.
Last weekend we tried it out on making noodles, and oh my goodness, it was much easier than how we used to make noodles. We whipped out two batches in less than an hour - mom couldn't believe it either. Now we have some fresh egg noodles, perfect for a big ol' pot of mom's chicken noodle soup.

Today was kolache day - we made sausage rolls (or pig in the blanket), cream cheese rolls, and cream cheese, cottage cheese and prune kolaches. They turned out so yummy, we didn't even cook this evening because everyone was eating the roll fresh out of the oven all afternoon.
By the way, if you happen to be from the side of the family that will be having the reunion in a couple of weeks, you can look forward to some of these yummies :)

Awww. . .
Valentine's day is almost here. . . . . the boys came home with all sorts of Valentines from school. I love looking at all the cute cards, and picking on the boys if they received a cute one from one of the girls, but at their age all they are interested in is the candy. As I was looking through I kept coming across empty candy wrappers.
Look at the cute card Kade made for us, if the picture doesn't show it real clear, the purple dots around the heart on the front are his thumb prints, and the inside says "You're Thumbody Special", awww, so cute.
The Valentine I wanted from my sweetie was the movie Fireproof and a date with him to watch it. Well, last weekend the boys spent the night with Aunt Deb, so we watched it. I really liked it, and would recommend it to couples everywhere. It's a low budget film, but has a strong message about marriage.

The Bikers
The other day Noah came up with the idea to ride his bike from our house to Granny & PawPaw's house. I'm all for the outdoors and the exercise, but it's 5 miles between us, part of the way is a gravel road and another section is on a sort of busy road. Kade also decided he wanted to go, so Brian agreed to go along to ease my worries. Well, we don't have an adult bike, and we knew Kade wouldn't made it all 5 miles, so Brian started out on Kade new bike and Noah & Kade on Noah's. Lucky for Kade, Noah's is a T@ny H@wk trick bike that has buddy pegs.
After I finished up my work at home, I took the truck and headed that way, they were makings good time, they were almost off of the busy road which was about a mile away from Granny & Pawpaw's. Of course by the time I got to them Noah & Brian had switched bikes because Noah couldn't made the hills with Kade. The only one to complain when they got there was Kade who said his legs hurt from stand so long :)
