'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

End of the School Year

Unbelievable!! I told Brian yesterday that it seems like just last week that we were at meet the teachers, and as of today our 3rd grader is a thing of the past.
Tuesday thru Thursday they kids got out of school at 2:00, and on Friday they went to mass and were out for the summer by 9:45. On Thursday, both Brian & I took the day off and volunteered at field day - the kids compete in events such as wheelbarrow races, 3 legged races, sack races, balloon toss, 75 yard dash, and more. After all the events are done, the students get to purchase water balloons to throw at the teachers -this is the kids favorite, and the teachers are good sports. It's a good end to the school year.
I also took off Friday - Kade & I went to the school mass. After mass they presented the students that didn't miss any days with a perfect attendance certificate - yes, Noah was one of the 6 out of the whole school that didn't miss any days.
He did very good with his grades - his final averages were: Religion 92, Reading 92, Language Arts 95, Spelling 98, Math 97, Science 94, Social Studies 96, Computer 94 - 6 A's and 2 B's - We're so proud of him!

Graduation

It's hard to believe, but our little "homey", Beau Alen is already old enough to be out of high school. Saturday evening Beau and 17 other students received their high school diplomas from St.Paul. Baccalaureate was at the 5:00 pm Mass, Commencement Exercises was at 7:00 and the party / dance followed. It all turned out good - Fr. Bob had a great sermon at Mass, directed to the 18 graduates, the commencement exercises were very nice, and not drug-out, and the party and dance was fun.
We are so proud of him - this year he excelled in sports, the was the president of student council, a member of National Honor Society, he was one of the 5 students to received the big 'Wolters' scholarship ($28,000), along with a few other scholarships - way to go Beau!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the special moms.
We had a great day - all of my family were at my parent's house. All mom wanted was a cook free, clean free, worry free day, so that's what we did. We prepared the food and the guys put it on the grill, everything was great!
(Brian's parents were out of town, so we'll be getting with them soon, to give his mom a special day too)

Before I was a Mom

I never tripped over toys or remembered words to a lullaby.

I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.

Pooped on.

Chewed on.

Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.

Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere

Isn't it amazing how something as inexpensive as bubbles can be so much fun.
