Kade's Surgery

Our baby had his first surgery today - he had the vessels cauterized to stop his nose bleeds. We had it done at The Surgery Center where Aunt Debbie works and boy did he get special treatment - everyone was wonderful. They took him to the back and we went to the waiting room at 8:20 and by 8:40 the doctor came out and told us that he was done and it all went well. The nurse then came out and got us, so we went to the recovery area and I held him while he woke up. He wasn't feeling the greatest while coming out of the anesthesia, but once again got the special treatment and soon was ready for a wheelchair ride. No, not everyone gets a wheelchair ride, only the special patients (and their brothers). He also raked up on the prizes, I didn't think we could get anymore SpongeBob things, but I was wrong. He's now laying on the couch with the remote in his hand soaking up all the attention.

Last night Kade told me that he had an idea - he was going to stay up real late, that way he would be sleeping and they wouldn't have to put him to sleep this morning.
When we were driving there this morning, Noah said "Kade's the one having the surgery, so why am I so nervous? Also, after the doctor came out, Noah said "now can we go see him?" - he just couldn't wait to see his brother.

Poor kid - glad to hear he is doing better. What a great older brother he has!
