'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

Spring Break

The kids are on spring break this week, but Brian's is next week. I worked Monday & Tuesday, and took the rest of the week off to spend some fun time with the boys.
Monday was a rainy day, and Tuesday it was cloudy and too wet to do much, but the boys were okay with it because Brooke spent the night and they got to stay up late, sleep in, and play Wii.
Today was a beautiful day so, we loaded them all up and went to Victoria. We went to a couple of different parks or playgrounds, and to the duck pond, out to eat, and to the zoo.
I think they all had a good time.

The Circus Came to Town

Yes, the circus came to our small town - it wasn't anything big, but it was a fun family evening. A neighbor of my parents had some tickets to sell, but instead, she bought all 5 and gave them to our kids (our 2 boys & my brother's 3 girls). Thanks Ms. Rose, you're the greatest!!
The kids had such a good time - Noah said his favorite part was the clown and guy on the trampoline. Kade like the girl on the trapeze, and he really enjoyed riding the elephant and the pony. My favorite part was seeing the smiles of their faces, and hearing their laughter.

That Time

It's that time of the year - spring fever is starting to set in, and I want to do so much "spring cleaning" - like cleaning closets, cleaning flower beds and the garden, but I just can't get motivated to actually do any of this. I mean, why clean when I can be out playing with my boys. :)
I just couldn't resist posting the following Maxine cartoons - they pretty much sum it all up.

Monday Madness

My Monday Madness is over, and it went very well.
Here's a rundown of my day - (leaving at 5:40 am) I drove an hour and a half to the airport, then took an hour flight to Plano, 30 minute to the office, met co-workers for a 3 hour meeting, took 25 min cab ride back to the airport, and hour flight back, and an hour & a half drive back home (returning at 8:30 pm). I'm Very tired and will be crawling in bed soon. BTW I was on a jet not a little "crop duster" :)

Fishing 101

1. have a beautiful day and place to go

2. put the worm on the hook

3. Cast (look out dad)

4. Wait

5. catch the fish

6. The proper way to hold the fish

7. get bored and play in the water
side note: the little perch are put back in the water after the boys catch them

Let Go . . .

Let God!
I'm a little umm. . . anxious about tomorrow. I have to fly to Plano for a meeting tomorrow afternoon then fly right back. Although it's not my first time to fly, it is my first time to fly alone, and first time in a little "crop duster" plane. So if you are reading this and have a couple of minutes, say a little prayer. My outlook on this is to Let Go and Let God, and I know it will be fine.

Reduce Stress . . .

I received this email, and think we should all to try live this way and reduce a little stress in our lives (God know's I need this, today being Monday) :)
REDUCE STRESS ...
An Angel says, "Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."

1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19 Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus."
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33 Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36 . Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.
"If God is for us, who can be against us?"
(Romans 8:31)
