'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

Big Cast Gone...Smaller Cast On

this past week Kade got his big cast off, the pins removed, and a shorter cast put on...
while waiting to see the doctor we had a mini silly photo shoot...
then the nurse came in & cut off the big cast & removed the pins...
after the pin removal, he didn't feel much like posing for pictures, but he did smile for a couple.
love this kid so much!!

First Day of School

And So It Begins

Today was the first day of school

Noah is a Junior
Kade is in the 6th grade

We're looking forward to a great year!

I told them to show me their 'true' first day of school faces

this was the first time I didn't take them to school on the first day...they kept telling me not to cry (& I didn't)...

Happy Reading

Have fun reading, looking at pictures & catching up!

No guaranties, but I'll try to do better

:-)

25 years

Today marks my 25th Work Anniversary

My parents always instilled a good work ethnic in us, but wow, 25 years

there have been many changes over the years, including name changes, job description changes, location changes, and so much more

I do have to say,
I am blessed

I loved this!!  My manager reached out to co-workers/friends, past & present all over the US, and had pictures of them holding a letter to spell out 'happy 25th anniversary'. It brought tears to my eyes and a huge smile to my face.

total cuteness

I just have to put a few pictures of all this cuteness
(I'm a proud great aunt, what can I say)

last summer trip

Our 'Friends Group' planned one last 'Hurrah Camping Trip' before the start of 2-A-Days

It was fun as always...
 ..but..
we tried very hard not to let a few little hiccups spoil it for us
(hiccups, as in Kade in a cast, Brian having to work and not spend the whole time with us, and having to take Noah to a walk-in clinic...thankfully it was just a bug of some sort and not strep which we feared)

football camp & Kade's wrist

I don't have pictures from the actual camp...
Noah attended the full week of camp...
Kade only made it the first day...

...yep...
...1st day, last rep...
...running pass routes...
Kade ran out, caught the ball, was falling so he put his hand back to brace/catch himself and landed wrong on his wrist...

Brian was there and got 'the wave' from coach to come on the field.
He then called me & I met them at the ER
Kade was covering his left wrist with his right hand, so I didn't see it until he laid down on the bed, and when I did, I had to sit down because it made me a little nauseous

- WARNING -
following photo will probably make you cringe

We are so blessed to have family in the medical field.
The very next day, he had surgery to put two pins in.
He has the best of care from everyone at The Surgery Center!!!

maroon cast & all - such good care at The Surgery Center

follow-up appointment
3 more weeks with the high cast, then it will be cut off, the pins will be removed & a shorter cast will be put on for another 2 weeks

doctor office silliness & cuteness
