Kade Update

Our baby is a total trooper!!
His procedure went very well - the doctor went in and cleaned the blood clot from his nose, set the fractured bones, and he put a small splint/cast on it.
Aunt Debbie (who works there, but is still on maternity leave), cousin Cierra, and mom's best friend, Mrs. Lucinda came to be with us.

Kade's broken nose

ER on Monday...

ENT on Tuesday....

Surgery Center on Thursday...

Brian & the boys were playing baseball Monday evening

Kade the batter, Brian the pitcher.....

...the batter took a shot to the nose....

...fractured in two places... Can you tell he didn't want me taking his picture.

He is doing fine

After the ENT visit he went back to school. His teacher said she told him "don't forget to tell Coach B about your nose" to which he replied "why, I can still run".

He also went to his baseball practice, and after his he was shagging balls for Noah's team practice. I'm glad he's not scared of the ball, but I was worried the whole time he was out there.

Tomorrow we will go the Surgery Center where he will be sedated and the doctor will clean his nose, set it and put a little cast on it...I've never heard of a cast on the nose, but I guess we'll find out all about it...

...this happened 23 days short of the 1 year anniversary of his fractured collar bone...

Way to go Noah & Kade!!!

The week before spring break was the end of the third nine weeks at school, thus report cards came out this week. (wow, only nine weeks of school left)
I wasn't sure how good they were going to be because my eldest is a sixth grader who has no interest in studying - he would much rather be playing video games or football than opening a book....but he did great!!! Yay Noah!!!!!
He will once again be on the A-B honor roll with his lowest average grade being a 91!!!
I know in the public school system that would be the all A honor roll, but we have tougher guidelines an A is 100 - 94 which is excellent achievements, and a B is 93-85 which is High Achievements.
Kade also did great, being in the first grade they don't get number grades on their report card, they get E (excellent progress), G (Good Progress) ,S (Satisfactory progress), etc..
His core subjects are all E & E+!!!! Yay Kade!!!
(on the online grading system I do get to see number grades and his lowest average is a 96)
the S's he received were for Neatness & correct formation of letter, but hey, he's a BOY in the 1st grade, so I don't have a problem with that...
Woot! Woot!
Way to go boys!!!
We are so Proud of you and love you to the moon and back!!!!

Spring Flower Planting

The flowers are blooming beautifully and the nursery was calling my name, so last week while we were off, we went and bought some of my favorite gerber daises and potted them
I spend the weekend admiring them...I would like to also spend my evenings admiring them, but I have been admiring my adorable boys on the baseball field instead.
I took some close-ups of the flowers, but haven't uploaded them so that post is yet to come...

Monster Fish!!!

It's been about 2 or 3 years since we fished at this friend's place, so everyone could not wait - The kids as well as the adults were so excited, and it did not disappoint - we caught some monsters. We weighted a couple and they were approximately 20 lbs.

Brooke's Birthday

Brooke turned 22 today - now that she was passed the 21 milestone, she said it's just another day...
We still think it's a pretty special day for a pretty special young woman -
Happy Birthday Brookeeeeee!!!
We Love you!!!

Camera Fun..

Enjoying another day of spring break.....
I had my small (inexpensive) camera out today and the boys were having fun - one thing I love about the digital is that I can delete the many, many pictures that aren't worth keeping...Here's a few that are -
