'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

~Proverbs 3:5-6

last day of February....

....and what a beautiful one it was.......
enjoying God's beautiful artwork

Simple things....

Some of the simplest things bring the biggest smiles.....
I found this cute little tin, that looks like the old type lunchbox, however I think it's supposed to be a Valentine box seeing as I got it half price down the Valentine's isle the day after....
It doesn't matter to Kade, he loves it, and he's taken his lunch to school in it several times.

ACTS

Thank You very much to everyone who prayed for me and who sent me letters while I was at the ACTS retreat last weekend (I can't believe it's already been a week since I was there).
IT WAS AN AMAZING WEEKEND.
I will admit it took me a while to finally accept the Lord's calling to go, but it was my time, and it was so good.
So, if you are thinking about going, I say go for it, you will not regret it.
ACTS is an acronym for Adoration, Community, Theology & Service

Denise has accepted the Lord's invitation to an ACTS retreat this weekend. Let us all pray for her while she is on her spiritual journey with Him. Let us also pray for Brian, Noah, and Kade, while she is away. May the Lord Bless them all. Thank you!!! Net

My big helper

It's February, so that means it's time to trim the rose bushes.
Kade thought it looked like fun and begged me to let him do it, so I did.
He was a big help, and did a good job....
now if I could only get him (or anyone) to help clean all the grass out of the flower beds....

Catholic School's Week - Make-Up

Due to the freezing weather during Catholic School's Week, so of the activities had to be re-scheduled......bad thing was that they were re-scheduled while I was out of town, but thanks to our wonderful family I have pictures.

Individual Talent Show (during the school day)
Kade & one of his buddies told jokes

Angelette & Katarina sang a song

The balloon launch

The variety show in the evening
Kade's class played their harmonicas

Noah wasn't feeling well, so he didn't participate in his classes skit, but Aunt Bernadette got a good picture of him before he left.

making sausage.....

My sister decided it was a good weekend to cut up Beau's deer & some pork and make sausage, and it was.
Good thing Noah's now old enough he can help out (and he's such a trooper, he will pose for pictures for me)

Happy Valentines Day

“Love . . . bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
I Corinthians 13:4-7, NKJV

The apostle is looking for a ribbon to wrap around one of the sweetest paragraphs in Scripture. I envision the leathery-faced saint pausing in his dictation . . . Checking off his fingers, he reviews his list. “Let’s see, patience, kindness, envy, arrogance. We’ve mentioned rudeness, selfishness and anger, forgiveness, evil, and truth. Have I covered all things? Ah, that’s it—all things. Here, write this down. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

taking to the skies...

....again.....
I'll be getting on a plane tomorrow (Tuesday) and flying to Dallas to go to our office in Plano. I have a meeting on Wednesday and will be working with the group on Tues & Thurs. I know the good Lord was looking out for me when I scheduled this trip because Tuesday & Thursday are supposed to be sunny - - cold, but sunny, and Wednesday is a chance for snow.
I'll be missing the kids variety show at school tomorrow - it was supposed to be last Thursday, but due to the weather it was moved to Tuesday. Hopefully, between Brian, Granny, MoMo, and Aunt Bernadette I'll get some pictures.

So, if you happen to have a minute or happen to think about me, say a little prayer - I know He's watching over, but I love to feel the prayers.

Oh, and speaking of prayers - Brian will be taking the state test for principal certification on Wednesday, so please offer some prayers up for him too.

Memorial Box Monday

Memorial Box Monday is the time we set aside to remember. To remember all the ways God has shown up for us. He is always faithful. (click on the picture above for an explination of what a memorial box is)

Are you in need of being reminded just how BIG God is? Are you in need of being reminded how much He loves you? Are you in need of being reminded that God can do ANYTHING?? I am, so I'm posting to remind myself......

It was April of 1986, I was a freshman in high school. I was playing softball and after practice one day the girls were watching the boys team from the public school as they practiced, and were talking about a couple of brothers, and asking which one was Chris and which one was Brian. Well I was no help because I didn't know either of them and don't even remember if I had ever seen them in town (which is strange because it's a small town). After more discussion we had figured out which one was which. On Friday of that same week we had a game in town and after the game was a dance and all my friends were going. By my parent's rules I was not old enough to go to the dance, but I asked anyway. My sister's boyfriend was gone in the Marines so my parents let me go with her. That night at the dance a guy came up and asked me to dance. After we danced that first song, he asked what my name was, so I told him, and then he asked if I knew what his was, and I said yes, it's Brian. He was surprised that I knew it, but thinking about it now, I know who wasn't surprised. It make me smile to know how God orchestrated the whole conversation about the two brothers just days before my parents allowed me to go to a dance, and Brian (my now husband) asking me to dance.
God is so awesome, and in my times of distress, I know He will always come through.

Brrrrr

We didn't get the snow that was in the forecast (1 -4 inches) which is a bummer. The little we did get was covered with ice, so we didn't have any play in, which was good because the boys didn't need to be out there.

'Tis the Season'

Does this look like the face of a sick boy......well, it is....
He started coughing and not feeling the greatest on Sunday but tried his best not to miss any school....he just couldn't do it. He did make it through the school day yesterday, but by early evening he had 101 temp, so I called and got him an appointment first thing this morning. They greeting us with 'tis the season' - his temp there was 102 - he has the flu. Doc also said if little brother starts with any symptoms, to call and he'll prescribe meds for him too.
Well within a couple of hours of being back the school called me that Kade was complaining of a headache and stomach ache....great!!!!
I called the doctor back and now we have two prescriptions of Tamiflu and a lot of coughing, and complaining, and all the other yucky stuff that comes with being sick.

Another Crown

Katelynn has another crown - this weekend she was crowned the 2011-2012 Trail Ride Queen.
Way to Go K - We're so proud of you!!

Catholic Schools Week

Sunday kicked off Catholic Schools Week - as always we had open house - we get to go & visit the classrooms and see what they have been working on. Kade had a lot more to show off, Noah basically showed us where he sits.
