Our Memorial Day

We had a fun and busy Memorial Day, it was just the way we like it . . . . . with family.

Noah & Brian raked the hay PawPaw cut this weekend, and Donnie baled it.
This was Noah's first time, he rode for a while, then he took the wheel and Brian rode.

We picked the gardens and canned the cucumbers, and then decided we still had enough energy to make seven batches of noodles.
The kids had fun cooling off in the water
And the day would not have been complete without bar-b-que and fresh veggies.

Happy Memorial Day

All Gave Some . . . . . . . Some Gave All
To all Soldiers, past and present, Thank You!!!!

One Proud Mama

Another school year has come and gone for our boys and now it’s time for this proud mama to brag about recognize our boy’s accomplishments.

Noah - - - - -

He has been on the honor roll all 4 semesters this year – I looked over his report card and through out this year only once did he have a semester grade that wasn’t in the 90’s, (and it was an 88). His lowest grade on his final averages is a 91.

(once again my side note of our school’s grading code - an A is 100-94 and 93-85 is a B)

Once again he finished the year out with his record of perfect attendance – through out his school career (K-5) there has only been one year when he didn’t get perfect attendance. After Mass this morning, Fr. Bob called out the names of those who received a certificate and they went to the front of church to receive it from the principal. Out of the whole school there were only 4 students to achieve this.

He is looking forward to the 6th grade and being more involved in sports.

This year he has also grown several inches, a couple of shoe sizes, and experiencing his voice changing.

Kade - - - - -

He also had a very good school year, well, with the exception of a broken collar bone.

In Kindergarten they don’t give out A’s & B’s, but if they did, he would be on the honor roll also. There’s only one area that we need to work on, and that’s tying shoes, I do believe this is our fault because he’s usually had Velcro shoes or it’s just Much quicker for us to tie them (I know – bad mama).

At the parent / teacher conference earlier in the year his teacher told me that he’s one of the smartest ones in her class and she has to catch herself because she’s always calling on him to answer or going to him for the correct answer after the others couldn’t get it, and he was picking up on this.

AR Splashday

Today the kids who reached their AR (accelerated reading) goal were treated to a 'splashday' with a big inflated slide and the inflated slip and slide. Both of our boys reached their goal, so I took the day off and spent it with them. They had a blast!

Juliette

And I definitely enjoyed my day off, not only did I get to spend it at school with the boys, I even managed to get all the laundry done, the yard mowed, and the garden picked. The only thing I didn't get done was clean the house, but that's okay. I do love days like this. . .

Juliette's B-day

Juliette is 12 years old.
Since we were all together last night for Nicolette's graduation, we also celebrated her birthday.
I think she enjoyed it, and I know she had a blast opening all the gifts.
Happy Birthday Juliette! Wow! only a year away from being a teenager.
Conner Loved having two cakes to choose from. . . . .

Nicolette's 8th Grade Recognition

It's official - Nicolette is no longer in Jr. High. . . . .
They had a recognition mass where they received their certificate of completion.
After celebrating holy mass we moved the celebration to their house for an enjoyable evening.
Congratulations Nicolette, We are proud of you!

A Relaxing Evening

We had an evening without a ball game or having to be somewhere, so I told the guys that we should just grill burgers and sit outside and relax.
Have a relaxing evening.
The definition of Relaxing is (as adj) rest or engage in an enjoyable activity so as to become less tired or anxious.

My idea of relaxing . . . . .

The boys idea of relaxing . . . . .
My idea . . . . .
the boys idea . . . . .

And the burgers sure were good

All I could say was Wow!!!!!

Yesterday at work I received an invitation for a conference call, I accepted it and didn't think much about it. This morning one of my co-workers called asking if I knew what the meeting was about because there was some mystery or secrecy about it. After talking to him I got a little worried, so when the reminder popped up on my computer, my stomach started to get nervous. But it was all good, nothing to be worried about. . . . . it was to announce that I won a Top Performer Award . . . . I won . . . . all I could say was Wow, Thank You.
With this award I received a Certificate signed by the president and CEO of the entire company, a letter from the head of our Diversified Products Group, a medal, a lapel pin, $100 gift certificate, and flowers & praises from the group I work with on a daily basis. I was very surprised, and am so excited - once again, wow!
