'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

More Soccer

We had a soccer filled evening - we had team pictures at 5:30, and games immediately following. I didn't see much, if any, of Noah & Katarina's game because Kade had one too. But we had plenty of coverage at the fields - my sister, Diane filmed some of both games, our 10 year old niece, Juliette took pictures, Brian went between the two games, Angelette watch Kade's, and my mom, Brian's dad, and his brother, David watched Noah & Rina's game. Both teams played very well. Noah & Rina's team won 3-2 and Kade's team won 11-0.

Game Day in Aggieland

Game day was awesome, like always. We went early so we could get to the quad to see the corp step off (boy did this bring back some memories). We walked around and showed the boys some things, and prepared them for the cannon to blow. This was the first time they experience the cannon so close that they could feel the ground (and their bodies) shake. They stood in disbelief as the band stepped off to the Aggie War Hymn and marched right by us on their way to Kyle Field. We then made our way to the field to watch march in and got ready for the game against Army. There were four choppers, which did the fly over before the game and parachuters who carried the game ball - hitting their marks landing right on the T, A, and M in the center of the field. During halftime (our favorite part) the Aggie Band was once again specular, followed by the Cadet Chior who sang God Bless America. To make it even more amazing cadet members covered the field with a huge flag. An experience that put a lump in your throat, a tear in your eye, and makes you proud to be a part of this Great Country. The game is always better when the Aggies win (21-17). J-Train made an impression pushing his way to the end zone. Saturday was military appreciation day, which made it even more awesome. Several times during the game Aggies from Iraq were saying hello to family members and wishing the Aggies the best of luck.

Sleepover with Brookeee

Thanks to MoMo & PoPo we had tickets to the Aggie Football game on Saturday.
To add to the weekend and have even more fun, we went up to College Station on Friday to spend the night with Brooke. It's great having Brooke & Beau live there now to give us this fun option.
The boys loved it, they had to check out everything around the apartment complex. We went to the 'workout room' as Kade called it and they pumped some iron. After doing a few reps of lifting 10 lbs, he told us, "Check these Babies Out" while showing his muscles. After this, we went and checkout both swimming pools, but bad mom forgot to pack swim trunks. But that night after getting back from eating and some shopping, we let them go in their shorts. After swimming they played Wii, and PlayStation 3, and whatever else they could talk Brooke & Adam in to doing. Yesterday after the game, they also played a little tennis & Kade ran around on the volleyball courts - I think he would have loved to have his trucks to drive around in the sand. They can't wait to go back.

First Soccer Game

Kade & I had our first soccer game this evening, his first time playing and my first time coaching. I can handle this level, there's not many rules, and it's not too competitive, it's actually down right funny. They played a great game, it ended in a tie, 3 - 3. All the kiddos were excited about playing, and even more excited about the snacks.

GAME FACE

Star Student

Kade is the Star Student of the Week.
Today to school he was to bring pictures of himself and his family, his favorite book, favorite CD, and a favorite toy. The pictures will hang in the classroom all week. Today, the teacher read the book to the class, during their center time they listened to the CD, (which was a homemade one of his favorite songs), and for the favorite toy he took his camera. On Friday we will send a treat for all the students.

A Day At The Circus

The Shriner's circus was in San Antonio today. NaNa & PaPa, being the sweethearts they are, bought tickets for us. Not just any tickets either, we were right down where all the action was - 3 rows up, it was so cool. The kids rode the elephant, visited with the clowns, and of course, the circus would not have been complete without having the peanuts, popcorn, and cotton candy. They loved the guys on the dirt bikes that drove around inside the sphere. It started out with four guys, then five, and ended up with seven guys driving around inside. It was almost scary to watch. They also like the human cannon ball, the elephants, the trapeze, the acrobats, okay, they liked it all. I really enjoyed the circus too, but my favorite part of the day was after the circus when we stopped by for a quick visit with NaNa & PaPa.

THANK YOU NANA & PAPA! WE LOVE YOU!

Thank You's

Thanks to everyone for the special birthday wishes, the beautiful cards, phone calls, etc.
I also received a couple of surprises, Brian sent me roses, and the boys, my mom, sister, & 2 nieces came to see me at work and brought me a cake and some flowers, it was so sweet.
That evening the boys & I went to St Paul's game, and Brian was at the Brahmas' game, so we went out to eat after church Saturday evening.

A is for Astronaut

In school Kade made this cute astronaut mask for the letter A. When I came home from work he was standing in the doorway waiting for me with his mask on, it was too cute.
He has gotten used to going and is really enjoying it. I knew he would, it just took a little time to adjust.

Bike Fun

In preparing for the hurricane, we had all the kids out helping and putting away anything that might fly. In doing so, they found a lot of things that let to creative fun. Beau built ramps for them to jump, and the had so much fun - except for when Noah ran off the ramp, crashed, popped the tube in Angelette's bike tire, and scraped his leg pretty good. After the fun of just jumping wore off, they started lining things up past the ramp to see if they could jump an fly over tires or bricks.

Soccer is Starting

Kade had is first soccer practice yesterday, and Noah had his second. I can't believe I did this, but I agreed to coach Kade's team. The good thing is, is that it's only 6 kids on the team, two are six years old, two are five, and two are four, and it's three girls and three boys. We have 8 games which will be played on Monday evenings or Saturday mornings, hopefully they are not at the same time Noah plays. I did have to call in reinforcements for the first practice, Brian came with me and it made things a lot easier - good thing I'm married to a coach. :)
This is going to be a lot of fun.

Hurricane Party (sort of)

In the uncertainty of what path Ike was going to take, we had family spend the night with us. It was fun to have everyone over, but not quite liking the reasons, but the boys loved having all the extra people and attention.
Mom, Beau, Carolyn & Marilyn played dominoes, Daddy, Noah & Brian watched wrestling, Net read her book, Brooke & Kade played boardgames, and I, well in between all the praying, I was watching the weather channel or the radar on the computer, making sure everyone had food, drink, a place to sleep, felt safe, you know, trying to be a good hostess. But like I said in my other post, God kept his mighty hands around us and kept Ike away.
