'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

Catholic Schools Week Cont.

Wednesday the kids had a balloon launch - this was brought back after 17 years. The kids really liked it, I know it was one of my favorive memories from way back when I was still in school.
Then this evening we had the traditional noodle soup supper and variety show. This is always a cute and fun part of Catholic Schools Week - each class (pre K 3 thru 12th) does a little song, dance, skit or something silly.

My how they grow. . .

I was looking through some of my photo albums and found the first of these pictures, so I just had to continue and tell the story. . .
When we were first married Brian brought home a native pecan tree - it was so small that it was in a little butter bowl. When Noah was 8 months old I took pictures of him by it, so before we moved I wanted to see/show how much the both grew and took another one. Then last summer we went by the house to pick something up, so we went to the backyard and once again had him repeat the pose. It's hard to beleive how much both Noah & the tree have grown.

Catholic Schools Week

Today was the kick off of Catholic Schools week.
After mass this morning we had the traditional pancake breakfast and open house. After eating, we went from room to room looking at the special things the kids had out for us to see. This part usually takes us a little while because in addition to Noah going to school here, we have 5 nieces & 1 nephew also going here - Angelette is in 1st grade, Noah & Katarina in 3rd, Juliette in 4th, Nicolette in 6th, Katelynn in 7th, & Beau is a senior. We also stopped by the Pre-K room where Kade will be going next year.
I always like this time of the year - it brings back a lot of memories of when my brother, sisters & I all went to school there too.

Basketball

I was told that I'm a slacker because it's been a week since my last post. Well, here's what we've been up to. . . Saturday our school had a B team basketball tournament, and two of our nieces, Katelynn (#15 white team) & Nicolette (#23 red team) played in it, so we were there all day. Beau had a game on Tuesday that we went to - he was high scorer, and they are undefeated in district. Monday we signed Noah up for little league, so we'll be on the go with practice and games soon.

one more

I think this is the last post about Noah's birthday -
PoPo & MoMo took us out to eat at one of our favorite places. The waitresses sang to him and gave him a piece of cheesecake with strawberries & whip cream - yum!!!
So, needless to say Noah has had a Great 9th birthday (that lasted 5 days)

Noah is Nine

After celebrating his birthday for three days already, today was the actual birthday. He took cupcakes to school & to Granny's for after school, and then this evening we went out to eat - there was 15 of us, and we had a good time.
My sister asked him how it felt being 9, to which he replied, it's no different than being 8.
I can not that it has been 9 years since the Good Lord blessed us with our first born.

Birthday Celebration - Day 2 & 3

Day 2 of celebrating:
Saturday morning the boys were up really early, and started playing the Wii again. A couple of the boys left around 11, and then we took one home on our way to Beau's basketball game.
Noah had a great time with his buddies!!
Both boys were wiped out - Kade fell asleep at the basketball games (yes, in a gym....whistles blowing, fans cheering & all), and Noah fell asleep in church that evening - we sat down for the sermon, and in probably less than 1 minute he was gone.

Day 3 of celebrating:
Today, after going to MoMo & PoPo's for lunch and eating some cake, we went to Granny & PawPaw's house. Since Aunt Net was in for the weekend we let him open his gifts, he couldn't wait. He got some really cool gifts and loved them all.
Before bed he asked if we have another gift for him to open because on Friday we gave him a controller for the Wii that he needed so all 4 of them could play. When I told him yes, I thought he was going to jump out of his bed, but I told him not to get too excited because he didn't know what it was, to which he replied, what are you just going to give me a hug - sounds like a good idea to me, but he really needs the socks & underwear :)
Oh, also this evening, we made cupcakes for him to take to school tomorrow, so the celebrating continues. . . . .
