'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

Debbie's Family

It's been a while since Cody came down, but he did this weekend - it was a great birthday gift to his dad. Louis & Kade share the same birthday.

Kade's Birthday

It's hard to believe, but our youngest turned 6 years old today. He's a rough and tough little boy, broken collar bone and all. And we love him to pieces.
All in all, I think he had a good day, although this evening he was sooooooo tired that he said it wasn't a good birthday. We started the morning off by waking him up and singing to him. After getting dressed, he begged to opened one gift so we let him, then he I put a candle in a small brownie so he could blow it out and make a wish. When we got to Granny's the girls sang to him and had a candle in his toast.
We sent brownies and drinks for him to share with his classmates. His day at school wasn't as good because a little boy ran in to him and knocked him down and it hurt his shoulder. The school called if I wanted to come and check on him and his collar bone but I talked to him and he said he could make it the rest of the day - my brave little boy.
When we got home he opened his gifts and played with the new toys.
Then this evening we went out to eat with MoMo, PoPo, Granny, Uncle Ronnie, Aunt Diane, Beau, Courtney, Uncle David, Katelynn & Katarina. There he got to blow out more candles (this time they were actually on a cake) and he opened more gifts.

Kade Update

Kade is doing really good, hopefully his collar bone is healing just as well.
He's adjusted to the strap and is usually careful as to what he can and can't do. Although the other day he got upset with us because we wouldn't let him play baseball, so he went and climbed in the tree house. . . . . .boys will be boys.
In a couple of weeks we will go for more x-rays, then to his doctor to make sure it is healing fine.
Aunt Net gave him a couple of decks of Spongebob cards, so we've been playing 'go fish' and 'battle' - one deck is 3D,so we've had fun wearing the glasses as we play too.

My Beautiful Surprise

Wednesday I received a beautiful surprise for Administrative Assistant Day.
I really enjoy working with such a good group people.

Kade's first

From the time Kade could walk and talk we always knew he would be our first one to break a bone, up until today we have been blessed.
The school called me this morning that he fell while playing outside and was crying that his shoulder was hurting and they wanted to know if one of us could to come look at it. Since MoMo works at the school I asked her to look at it and called me back. She did and said he wouldn't stop crying and seemed to have some intense pain, so I went and picked him up and took him to the ER for x-rays.
Our baby has a broken collar bone.
They call it a green stick break - it's not cracked all the way through, but more so bent. He has to wear a clavicle strap (it looks like he's wearing a backpack) and follow up with his doctor in two weeks. It hurt him pretty bad when we took his t-shirt off this evening, but we gave him some of the pain medicine and hopefully he will get a good night sleep.

Of course when we left the ER we had to go and get ice cream and a toy - he was such a big boy.

Sharing Mow Time

As silly as it sounds, we have to make the boys share with who gets to mow the yard. I know it probably won't last long, but we'll take it and enjoy it for now. Noah usually mows the back yard with the small push mower while one of us uses the rider for the majority of the area. Now Kade is wanting to help too, and since it's just a small lawnmower, we allowed him to.
Saturday I asked Noah to do the backyard, and Kade jumped up and said he would do it, so I let him start. When I told him to let Noah, he got upset, and followed behind him. And he was really upset when I let Rina do a couple of rounds.
Why is it that they love to do things when they are too small to do it "good", but as soon as they are old enough, they no longer want to do it.
(I have not idea what the backpacks are for - I guess he was playing something but wanted to mow first that he didn't even take time to take them off)

Uncle Chris

Brian's older brother was in SA for training this past week, so we made time to meet up with him before he went back home.
It's been about 4 years since we saw him last so there was a lot of laughter, reminiscing, and good conversation. We hate that we don't get to see him (and his family) that often, so we really enjoyed our time with him.
