'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.'

Gardening

Well, actually it's been weeding and tilling and more weeding to get the garden ready for gardening. Now, as of today the tomatoes, jalapenos, zucchini, squash, eggplant, and cucumbers are all planted.

I Love Bluebonnets!!!

Due to a wet winter, everywhere we drive these days we see a sea of wildflowers, especially Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes, and they are absolutely beautiful. It makes me want to stop on the side of the road and take pictures. . . .no, I didn't, these pictures are from across the road at our house, from our front yard and by my parent's house.
Today when I picked the boys up I could smell the bluebonnets. Just one more reason I love this time of the year!

Nicolette's Birthday

I just realized that I didn't post this. . . . . . .
This weekend was Nicolette's 14th birthday. Sunday she came to Granny & PawPaw's house for her gifts from all of us. We didn't have a cake, but we used our creativity and put a candle in an oatmeal pie, but she didn't mind.
Happy, Happy Birthday Nicolette - Hope your year of being 14 is awesome and fun filled!!!

Little League Opening Ceremony

Little League is officially under way.
We had the opening ceremonies and games today. Kade is in his last season of T-Ball, Noah is in the 11-12 year old league, and Brian is helping with both teams (when he isn't coaching high school). We also have a couple of nieces playing, Angelette & Katarina - so we will be spending A LOT of time out at the ball park. I looked at the schedule and next week we have a game 4 out of 5 days and that's just Noah & Kade.

It was a busy day today, in addition to opening ceremonies, our kids from the Catholic School also participated in the academic meet in Weimar, so Bernadette took their girls and Noah there, and she got them back in time for their afternoon games.
Congratulation to Angelette who placed first in ready writing.

Spring!!!!

The signs of spring are everywhere. We still have a lot of work to do, but I am enjoying the few flowers that I did get potted. We've been enjoying the patio - the evenings are still a little cool, but that's just a good excuse to use the fire pit.
And look at the adorable bench I bought last week, it's just what I was looking for that area.

Brooke's Party

Forecast for Saturday - 80% chance of rain and windy as a cold front blows. . . . . and we have how many people invited to our house????
We woke up to the sound of rain, pulled up the radar to see we were under severe thunderstorm warnings, but I kept the faith and knew it was going to be okay.
The party was to start at 4, and by 2 the rain was gone and the sun was trying to come out, but it was still windy and cold.
The guys put the big tent up in front of the garage to give more room, and it worked out good. . . . so much for all the yard work, we were all inside the whole time because of the wind and cold.
Family. . . . Friends. . . . . .Good Food. . . . . Plenty of Drinks. . . . . a good time was had by all.
Happy 21st Birthday Brooke!!! We Love You!!!

Spring Cleaning

Outside Spring Cleaning that is . . . . .
We called in some help and now have our jungle of a yard looking good.

Spring Break Fun Day

Wednesday was the first day of spring break that we all four had off, so we took the opportunity to have a family fun day. Not only was it the four of us, but all the cousins and a couple of aunts too. We went back to the amusement place that we went to last summer and once again had a great time. It was a little more crowded this year, but we still managed to get everything in - several times over and over. They also added a new ride called the dizzy toucan, they all loved it, but I didn't even attempt it (if swinging on a swing set gets to me, I kind of thought this ride would too). The younger ones are all ready to go back again, the older ones had fun, but like a little more thrilling rides.
